At KOMUNA, we invite you to discover the rural communities of Moxos, where ancient traditions are preserved and passed down through generations. Centuries ago, the nomadic cultures of this region mastered the natural water cycles, building intricate systems of canals and dams to regulate the river waters and cultivate wild cacao, a practice that continues to this day.
Wild cacao, still cultivated using traditional methods, is a true cultural treasure for the communities. When you visit, you’ll have the chance to learn about the art of cacao cultivation and processing, shared by the locals with pride and passion.
Though modern comforts have been integrated, their deep connection with the land and water remains vital to their life and well-being. Moxos is a living example of how it’s possible to live in harmony with nature, protecting the environment while building a prosperous future.

Amazing trip to the remote Bolivian jungle! We were four friends just wanting to have a good time and enjoy the wildlife, especially the birds. Our crew —the captain, guide, and the awesome cooks— really did everything to make the trip unforgettable. The boat was super spacious and had everything we needed. I’d totally recommend this experience to anyone who wants to relax and disconnect from the world. P.S. We didn’t choose the birdwatching guide option—kind of regret it, since our guide wasn’t specialized in that part.

The places are wonderful from the moment you set foot in Trinidad until you board with Komuna. What really stood out was the dedication and customer care shown by the crew, cooks, guides, and even the locals we met along the way. They are truly amazing people who take care of you and help with anything you need at all times. My advice: go well-rested, because the tour will be a sea of emotions and unforgettable experiences.
